What ingredients does it take to make you?

askmynameismarco:

Marco is made of lemon, hammers, and gullibility. With a dash of Chemical X.

OOC: OH GOD, THE LEMON TROPE.

Jake is made of ice, acid, and apathy. With a dash of Pokemon.

Ax man… just… really the pink clashes with your skin tone, dude.

I don’t want to know, do I?

Finally started this reread. This copy is about fifteen years old. The binding is held together with Scotch tape, and there are layers and layers of creases where pages were dog-eared multiple times. And actually, this copy used to be quite unique - it was misprinted with a double inset. I was very proud of it. Unfortunately, the extra page fell out and I lost it after a couple years.

I’m pissed at myself for giving away most of my Animorphs books, but I just didn’t (and still don’t) have the shelf space. I don’t know how I’d feel about replacing them though. This one has so much character, the pages are so delicate I barely want to turn them. I’ll probably keep it till the end of my days. Assuming it doesn’t completely disintegrate first.

(Mine are in similar shape. About ten years ago I sold a chunk of them to a used book store because of that whole lack of shelf space thing, but when I was asked if I wanted to throw out the battered and bruised and falling apart first six books… I couldn’t do it. They still sit on my shelf, along side my all my college textbooks and research journals. A little out of place, maybe, but loved regardless.)

Your info says you can't tell us who you are because it's too dangerous. Your URL says your name. SO HOW'S LIFE, O FEARLESS LEADER?

The convenient thing about the internet is that you don’t have to use your real name. The annoying thing about the internet is how many variations of “ask Jake” there actually are. Having an already established alias helped on both points.

And right now life is about as good as it ever gets these days.

Jake, buddy. Why are you licking the snow..?

Because sometimes it’s the only thing that will get a taste out of my mouth.
